Né à Paris, il obtient son Bachelor of Music de la Juilliard School de New York, un Diplôme d’Artiste du Conservatoire Royal de Toronto et un Master of Music à l’université de Yale. Il a bénéficié de l’enseignement de Ghislaine Petit, Pierre Jamet, Nancy Allen et Judy Loman. Lauréat de nombreux concours, il se produit régulièrement en Europe, aux Etats-Unis et en Asie.

Recruté par Myung Whun Chung au poste de première Harpe solo de l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France depuis 2005, après avoir occupé ce poste à l’Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, puis à l’Orchestre Symphonique de Bâle, il travaille aussi avec d’autres orchestres tels la Philharmonie de Berlin, le London Symphony Orchestra, le Mahler Chamber Orchestra ou les orchestres de la radio bavaroise ou du Festival de Lucerne (Abbado, Haitink).

Nicolas Tulliez participe parallèlement à de nombreuses créations contemporaines (Goubaidulina, Maresz, Matalon…) et est dédicataire d’œuvres solo ou de musique de chambre. Il a commandé et créé Répliques de Yan Maresz pour harpe augmentée et orchestre avec Suzanna Mälki et le Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.

Il a enregistré pour EMI, Canadian Broadcasting Corp. Universal, Maguelone (Trio Nobis), et chez Naxos le double concerto pour hautbois et harpe de Lutoslawski avec l’Orchestre National de la radio polonaise. Pour Skarbo, il a enregistré un album Debussy avec le flûtiste Stéphane Réty, Harpeggione avec le violoncelliste Raphaël Perraud et le concerto de Ginastera avec le Sinfonieorchester Basel.

Il enseigne à l’Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris et au CRR de Paris. Il est régulièrement invité à donner des masterclasses et à participer au jury de concours internationaux.

Born and raised in Paris, Nicolas Tulliez holds a Bachelor of Music from the Juilliard School, an Artist Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto, and a Master of Music from Yale University. His teachers include Pierre Jamet, Nancy Allen and Judy Loman. Winner of many competitions and scholarships, he has performed as a soloist all over Europe, USA, Canada and Asia.

Chosen by Myung Whun Chung as first harp solo of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France since 2005, after being appointed at the same position at the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, then at the Sinfonieorchester Basel, he also plays regularly with other formations such as the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Berliner Philharmonie, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks (Abbado, Haitink).

Nicolas Tulliez takes part in numerous first performances of new works (Goubaidoulina, Maresz, Matalon…) and is the dedicatee of many solo or chamber music works. He commissioned and premiered Répliques by Yan Maresz for augmented harp and orchestra with Suzanna Mälki and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.

He is a Professor at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris. He is regularly invited to give masterclasses and to join international competitions jury.
